This connector is used most often on microphone cables. It is also found
on many other audio output, capture, and mixing devices. There are other XLR
connectors that have up to 9 pins, but these are not standard. |

| Toslink |

The toslink connector uses light pulses rather than electricity to
transmit digital audio such as Dolby 5.1. These are often found on the back
of DVD players and other digital audio/video devices. The mini-toslink is
commonly found on smaller digital audio devices such as MP3 players. |
